  25. 1. Overview
  26. -----------
  27.  
  28.    TreeDiff is a Visual directory and/or archive comparison
  29. tool for Windows. You can compare any directories, whether they are
  30. located on disk, in ZIP archives, or pre-saved lists.
  31.  
  32.    The differences between the files are shown in a dual scrolling window,
  33. with colors highlighting different types of differences (inserted files,
  34. deleted files, CRC differences between files, date differences, time
  35. differences).

  37.    You can FILTER out the results, in order to see only the differences
  38. that are important for you. (see below for details)
  39.  
  40.    You can SAVE the results of comparison, for later use.
  41.  
  42.    You can take a snapshot of a full directory, to compare to later, so
  43. you don't need the actual files anymore on disk.
  44.  
  45.    You can include or exclude files from comparison, using regular DOS
  46. wildcards.

  48.    Over 263 millions files can be handled, using a few memory.
  49. (very useful for huge CD-ROMS or network drives !!)

  51.    File operations can be performed on selected files.

  53.    Full context sensitive Windows help included.

  56. 2. Installation
  57. ---------------

  59.    To install TreeDiff, just unzip the TreeDiff archive on your
  60. hard disk, for example in your TOOLS directory, and from Windows,
  61. create an icon (Windows 3.x, NT) or a shortcut (Windows 95)
  62. pointing to TREEDIFF.EXE.  That's all !

  65. 3. Author / registration
  66. ------------------------

  68.    TreeDiff is SHAREWARE.
  69.  
  70.    You can use it during a test period of 21 days. If you continue
  71. to use it after this period, you must register.
  72.  
  73.    There are two different versions of TreeDiff, that you can choose,
  74. depending on what you need :
  75.  
  76.    a. TreeDiff, regular version for single user.
  77.  
  78.       The price for this version is only $40.
  79.       With this version, you can compare an unlimited number of
  80.       files, but filters, file operations and saved batch files are not
  81.       completely available. You can use those features only if you
  82.       didn't reach a given amount of files.
  83.       This allows you to evaluate the possibilities of the PRO version.

  85.    b. TreeDiff, PRO version for single user.
  86.  
  87.       The price for this version is only $80.
  88.       With this version, you have all the functionality of the
  89.       regular version, plus unlimited Filters, file operations and Saved
  90.       batch files fonctionality enabled.
